The Water Suite

The Water Suite examines the liquid texture of video through a range of transmutations upon looping images of water. The suite is composed of five individual works: Frameflow, Flowframe, Grid11a, waterRGB, and Waveform. In each work, the image is separated into various layers and components of colours, position, and movement that generate thresholds of depth, presence and absence.

"These works represent variations on a theme of water, waves, and currents. A flow of patterns separated and rejoined again to make something new; transmuting the natural world into a realm of colour and form. Such rhythms, crafted in radiant pixellated electric light, seek the discovery a space of contemplation amidst the dynamic urban environment." - DB
